Tragedy in Florida
Sean was joined by Fox News analyst Mercedes Colwin and DC Councilman Michael Brown to address the recent shooting in Florida of a 17-year old Trayvon Martin. According to news reports, 17 year old Martin was shot and killed by 28 year old George Zimmerman after he confronted the young man outside his home. “What happened here is tragic,” began Hannity, “Police haven’t charged Zimmerman because of self defense claims.” “I believe in the right for people to defend themselves,” continued Hannity, “When the Guardian Angels were under fire they were able to work with the local law enforcement.” “Zimmerman had taken the role as a community watch organizer,” explained Colwin, “He had 46 communications with law enforcement officials and this is the first incident that has arisen.” “In the tapes it sounds like the young man is approaching him and that Zimmerman attempted to follow him,” offered Brown, “I wonder if Martin were a young white man would he have had those issues.” “That’s an answer we may never really know,” offered Hannity. Money for Muslim Brotherhood
The Washington Post broke the news earlier this week that senior White House officials have decided to resume military funding to Egypt. Reports indicate that more than $1.5 billion in funding has been withheld from Egypt until they can prove their newly formed government has a pro-democracy tendency. In December, Congress passed a law forbidding any funding until the State Department certifies Egypt is making progress on restoring basic freedoms and human rights. “Hilary Clinton is going to allow military aide to Egypt to continue,” began Hannity, “I cannot, for the life of me, understand how this could happen.” “Just this past week, Iran claimed that they have ‘Israel surrounded’,” continued Hannity, “This is money to the Muslim Brotherhood, a terrorist organization!” While it’s hard to believe that the United States is so quick to support our enemies, the Washington Post did put together a full ana lysis here. Could this move be more about continuing US defense contracts than national security? To read the story from the Washington Post that began this, click here.
Herman Cain: Etch-A-Sketch
Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney spent much of the day trying to recover from a controversial statement of his longtime advisers, Eric Fehrnstrom who said that, after the primary, Governor Romney’s campaign would be like an etch-a-sketch toy, where he could “shake it all up and start over again.” Former presidential hopeful, Herman Cain, joined Sean to discuss the debate. “Was he just misspeaking,” a confused Hannity asked of Cain, “Or does this reveal a secret plan to move to the left?” “It’s not secret,” quickly retorted Cain, “What he said is why some people are afraid Romney would be Obama-light.” Cain continued, “I think we’ll just have to wait to see how the news cycle handles this.” “To be clear this wasn’t made by Romney,” clarified Hannity, “It was made by his communications director.” “When you’re in the middle of so mething like this.” Pressed Hannity, “What’s that like?” “Every day you wake up you go to the alert list and see what word you said yesterday they want to make a news story out of,” laughed Cain, “It’s every day!” So far the polls don’t seem to be inclined to punish Governor Romney with Governor Romney leading nationally with 37% to Santorum’s 28% according to Rasmussen. Governor Etch-A-Sketch – Posted by Bill813
Yes sir, let's all circle all wagons right now and rally behind Romney, right? The democrats have already run two attack ads on the etch-a-sketch theme, and are chomping at the bit to run against him. Rely on "well, at least he's not Obama." Hope once again the GOP can put the cart before the horse and run a VP that can get the conservative base excited. That strategy worked well for us in 2008, didn't it? Is this really the best we conservatives can do?
