Sean Discusses Trayvon Martin Case
Friday, March 23rd | |
Sean kicked off Friday's show by discussing the slaying of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, a Florida high school student who was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, a self-appointed neighborhood watch captain. Sean urged caution about drawing any premature conclusions about the case, recalling the Atlanta Olympic bombing case in which Richard Jewell was erroneously implicated. Sean talked through the time-line of events and played several of the 911 calls made the night Trayvon Martin was shot. One thing in particular bothered Sean about the case. In the call George Zimmerman made to 911, the operator explicitly tells Zimmerman not to follow Martin, and instead to remain where he was until police arrived. "The problem here is with Zimmerman. I'm just trying to understand why continued to peruse Martin [instead of waiting for the police]. It's a question that needs to be answered...it makes no sense to me," said Sean. Rick Santorum On Hannity A defiant Rick Santorum joined Sean on the NewsMaker Hotline to discuss the status of his campaign. The GOP candidate is facing heightened pressure to revive his presidential bid, with many critics calling for him to drop out of the race. "We have to give the voters a choice," Santorum said adamantly. "I've said it repeatedly, I'm in this race to defeat Barack Obama, but whoever the candidate is, I will support them because Obama has to go. But we're not going to win the election unless we give the American public a different vision for this country." Santorum told Sean that he felt he was the true Conservative candidate in the race and that Romney was "the Etch A Sketch candidate of the future." Romney heads into the Louisiana primaries with a commanding delegate lead in the race to 1,144, the number needed to clinch the GOP nomination. |
How Much More Are You Paying For Gas Under Obama? When talking about how to fix skyrocketing prices of gas, the administration is running on fumes. When President Obama took office in 2009, the national average for the price of gas was $1.84 cents but today it is doubled to $3.89 cents. Former Virginia governor and Senator George Allen joined Sean on 'Hannity' to help put things in perspective. Allen told Sean about a new gas price calculator online found at toomuchatthepump.com. If you drive a Ford Taurus for example, driving that when Obama took office, you were paying just $35 to fill up your tank. But now, it costs well over $70! "The point is we are number one in the world when it comes to energy resources. If we unleash our resources, we would have more affordable fuel. More affordable food. More affordable electricity. We wouldn't be so vulnerable to outside hostile forces," Allen explained. "We could have a rebirth in our industry in our country, making our country much more competitive for investment and jobs. The federal government would get over a trillion dollars in revenues without raising taxes and we'd be keeping our money here in the United States of America." Today's "Hot Topic" From The Hannity Forums: Santorum's "Obama better than Romney" Statement - Posted by Conservatizzle So, to get away from the Etch a Sketch campaign plan give away, the Romney campaign (with help from the guy who wrote the ABC headline) has completely (and somewhat successfully, I might add) misrepresented Santorum's statement. The Daily caller points out that Santorum has been making this same old stump speech for months, he just inserted the "etch a sketch" thing to make it fresh. Why is Romney making a big deal about it now? >> TV Tonight (Hannity FoxNews at 9pm ET): Exposing the hypocritical liberal hate speech given a pass by the mainstream media. |
