As U.Va. weighs reinstating Sullivan, her proposed successor says his plans are on hold


A day after the University of Virginia's governing board announced it would consider reinstating ousted President Teresa Sullivan, the dean tapped to replace her said he was suspending discussions about taking the helm until Sullivan's situation is resolved.

Carl P. Zeithaml said in a statement that he would return to his duties at the McIntire School of Commerce for now, adding: "Trust cannot be restored in our community until" Sullivan's status is resolved.
