WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED * Former president George W. Bush will not attend the Republican National Convention. Bush "supports Governor Romney and wants him to succeed," a spokesman told Politico. "But he's still enjoying his time off the political stage and respectfully declined the invitation to go to Tampa." * Another Republican lawmaker distanced himself from Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) today over her claims that State Department staffer Huma Abedin is a Muslim Brotherhood spy. "That kind of assertion certainly doesn't comport with the Intelligence Committee, and I can say that on the record," House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) told USA Today. * President Obama's campaign has released a list of its second quarter campaign bundlers — supporters who pull together donations from many sources. Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney has refused to reveal his bundlers. By law, he must disclose lobbyists who act as bundlers; the LA Times finds a bit of a mystery on his most recent FEC report. * Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan has endorsed Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst for the state's open Senate seat. Dewhurst faces a July 31 primary runoff with Solicitor General Ted Cruz after failing to get over 50 percent in the GOP primary. "David understands Texas and has proven he can lead," the incredibly popular Texas Rangers CEO says in a video.
WHAT YOU SHOULDN'T MISS * The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee outraised the National Republican Senatorial Committee by a wide margin last month, $8 million to $4.4 million. The DSCC has $31.4 million in the bank; the NRSC has $24.3 million. * The National Republican Congressional Committee narrowly outraised the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in June, $10.7 million to $10.5 million. The NRCC has $41 million in the bank while the DCCC has $33.2 million. The two groups raised about equal amounts in the second quarter. * Romney will fundraise with former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani in Boca Raton, Florida next Friday, at the home of Dr. Larry Kawa, an orthodontist. Giuliani, who has had a rocky relationship with Romney, campaigned in Virginia Beach last week. * Former wrestling executive and Connecticut Senate candidate Linda McMahon has released her 2010 tax return, showing that she and her husband earned $30.6 million in 2008 and paid $4.7 million in taxes. The vast majority of their earnings came from stock dividends. McMahon says she will release her 2011 return when it's ready. * FreedomWorks is holding a conference next week, FreePAC, in Dallas, Texas. Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), Indiana Senate candidate Richard Mourdock and Cruz will all speak to a crowd of conservative activists on Thursday, July 26.
