Tragedy in Colorado
Friday, July 20th | |
Sean began Friday's show with tragic news from Aurora, Colorado, where James Holmes is suspected of going on a shooting spree killing 12 people and injuring 59. "My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family members of these victims," began Hannity, "From what we can gather there was a gunman who fired off gas and a rampage began." "It hasn't been even a half day and the liberal left and the media are already politicizing it," a frustrated Hannity continued, "Nanny Mayor Michael Bloomberg in New York wasted no time politicizing the tragedy." As news continues to unfold, it is becoming increasingly clear that there was little that could have been done to prevent this terrible tragedy but it certainly doesn't help to make a political issue out of this story, the timing is way off. Dan Bongino Sean was joined by former Secret Service agent and Senatorial candidate Dan Bongino to gather the former lawman's perspective on the situation in Colorado. "The Secret Service provides protection against targeted violence," began Bongino, "That's when the suspect plans in advance and there is a specific target." Bongino continued, "A lot of the characteristics follow a very specific pattern." "Whenever you're involved in risk assessment, do you find there is a certain amount of profiling," questioned Hannity, "There are certain profiles you create right, we usually look at just racial profiling." "You're right Sean, we typically find that there is a signal sent before the event," explained Bongino, "I'm sure we'll see that in a few days." As we continue to learn more about this tragedy it'll be interesting to hear more about the suspect, James Holmes, and to try and fi nd a way to explain the inexplicable. |
Larry Lowack Jr. Larry Lowack, the father of Brent Lowack who was injured in the Colorado attack, joined Sean to share accounts of the event. Lowack's girlfriend, Jessica Ghawi, was an up and coming FOX sports anchor for the local affiliate in Colorado. "Jessica was a sweet girl who has blessed us with her presence," offered Lowack, "She's had dinner with us many times." "After 9-11 there were many who asked the question 'why did I get out," recalled Hannity, "I don't think we'll ever have the answers but I believe in heaven and God, but I don't think we'll ever have the answers." Sean ended, "We'll be praying for Jessica and her family and this story just breaks your heart." "It makes you look at life a bit differently," offered Lowack, "It sure makes you think, don't ever put your guard down." Through this tragedy, Mr. Lowack does offer some really good advice, unfortunately it seems w e're living in a time where you just can't put your guard down. For more on Jessica Ghawi, click here. Today's "Hot Topics" From The Hannity Forums: Media Vendetta Against Conservatives is Out of Control - posted by Flannie I am so sad. And so mad. It breaks my heart to read about the shootings in Colorado. But it brings out the fury in me to see what one news outlet did in order to politicize the tragedy. Read this article. What in the world kind of journalism was Brian Ross practicing?? Or should I say, MALpracticing? It is unconscionable that anewscaster or anyone else in the media would be so desperate to smear the Tea Party that he would blithely associate it with something so unspeakable as this tragedy. This is as unprofessional as it gets. SHAME on this newscaster. And SHAME on his boss, ABC News, for a) hiring someone so grossly lacking in journalistic ethics and b) for being the kind of organization that would give Brian Ross the notion that thiswould be even remotely acceptable. >>TV Tonight (9pm ET on Fox News) Sean has the latest on the shooting at the movie theater in Aurora, Colorado. |
