A Preview Of Next Week's Debate Sean kicked off Friday's show prepping the audience for next week's debate. "Romney needs to bring issues to this campaign and do so aggressively," offered Hannity, "With the President's poll numbers, according to the elite media, they want you to lose your enthusiasm and they're simply trying to advance their narrative." Sean continued, "So, that's why you have all these skewed polls, and they are skewed." "Take, for example, Florida where 38% are Republicans and 40% are Democrats," explained Hannity, "The Washington Post has Democrats out-polled by six points and yet the liberal media will have you believe Obama is dominating the election." The real point that Sean was making is that there is a practical difference between voters and likely voters and we've known for some time that there will be key battleground states in the fight for the White House. Coulter And Williams Ann Coulter and Juan Williams joined Sean to discuss the merits of Ann's new book, "Mugged." "For years Republican plans on crime were called racist but once they were implemented they saved literally thousands of black people's lives," argued Coulter earlier this week on ABC's "The View". "This interview created a bit of a firestorm," laughed Hannity, "I will agree that it was great that they didn't avoid you like the plague." "Ann is certainly a provocateur," praised Williams, "What she is saying, and she spent a lot of time on it, is that Republicans are not racist and I think you've done a wonderful job, Ann." "I'm not ignoring that both sides are equally culpable," offered Coulter, "Overwhelmingly Republicans have promoted blacks to important positions and the only reason that liberals support Obama is because of his ideas and his supporters use race to attack his detractors." "Why is it that Republicans ignore the black or Hispanic vote," questioned Williams, "They don't put any resources in them." Skewed Polling Data? John Hlinko, Democratic Strategist and Michael Barone, Senior Political Analyst at the Washington Examiner joined Sean to discuss the recent debate about some presidential tracking polls regarding sampling errors and percentage skews. Several polls released over the past few days have over-sampled Democratic voters to produce results favorable for the president. A CNN/ORC poll from September 10th massively under-samples independents while it also over-samples Democratic voters. Barone and Hlinko both agreed that many of the rumors regarding mis-polling or over-compensating are true. Barone has a vast background in (polling since the days of Reagan), believes that there is a favoritism to the incumbent. However, he told Sean that he does not believe that the president is truly pulling ahead in the polls. Hlinko disagreed with Barone and felt that while there will be a good turnout for Romney, ultimately the president will remain steadfast with the American people and win in November.
