China's Bo Xilai expelled from Communist Party

Bo Xilai, a rising political star in China whose career was derailed by a murder scandal involving his wife, was expelled from the Communist Party on Friday, and officials said he would face criminal charges. China's government said that its once-in-a-decade leadership transition has been set for Nov. 8, a signal that competing political factions have agreed on the next ruling council of leaders.
