Sean kicked off Wednesday's show by discussing a story from Chicago in which disgraced former U.S. Rep. Mel Reynolds announced his bid for the seat held by Jesse Jackson Jr., who resigned. As you may remember, Reynolds held the 2nd Congressional District seat from 1993 until October 1995, when a jury convicted him of several sex-related charges, including having sex with an underage volunteer campaign worker. While serving time in state prison, Reynolds also was convicted on federal financial and campaign fraud charges. Reynolds asked that voters focus on his congressional experience rather than his state and federal criminal record. Fiscal Cliff, Tax Reform and The Filibuster Grover Norquist, President of Americans for Tax Reform (ATR), a taxpayer advocacy group he founded in 1985 at President Reagan’s request, joined Sean in the second hour of Wednesday's show. ATR works to limit the size and cost of government and opposes higher taxes at the federal, state, and local levels and supports tax reform that moves towards taxing consumed income one time at one rate. Senator Rand Paul, Congressman Garrett joined Sean and Norquist to discuss the latest on the fiscal cliff, the filibuster and tax reform. Senator Paul, Congressman Garrett and Grover Norquist detailed the pledge that they've made which promises not increase taxes on the American people. The pledge also vows to fight against the president's tactics to attack and mislead the every day American. Norquist explained that he wants to see more revenue and growth and the way to achieve that is not through taxes but by creating more jobs. Senator Paul jumped in and said that the re is a real problem with people thinking getting rid of deductions is not the same as taxes. "It is in fact just as harmful and that this misconception is just as dangerous," Paul described. Sean asked the three men why there is not more of an effort to eliminate spending and special interests. Congressman Garrett said that in fact there is a real conversation happening to do just that - eliminate the frivolity in the House. | Is There More To Come On Benghazi? Yesterday, U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice met with three Senate Republicans on Capitol Hill in an attempt to try and explain away why she went on all five Sunday shows just days after the Benghazi terror attack and tried to blame the violence on a YouTube video. But after a closed-door meeting, all three senators said they are more disturbed than they were before. Sean was joined on 'Hannity' with reaction to this story by FoxNews contributor Liz Cheney. "What we've heard are so many changes to the story. You know, and we haven't heard from the president. And we haven't heard from the secretary of state. This is the fourth or fifth iteration of who changed the talking points, which isn't something that happens when you're actually telling the truth," Cheney said "And where in the world is Secretary Clinton? I mean, you know, it seems to me that these senators, not only should they not confirm Ambassador Rice under any circumstances, but I think they o ught to say we won't confirm anyone until Secretary Clinton gets up here, under oath, and gives a full and complete testimony about what she knew and when she knew it, what she did."
