Newt Gingrich: Christmas Day 1776
With Sean spending time with his family, it’s a good time to take a deep breath and recharge for the battle ahead in 2013. One of Sean’s goals has been to remind listeners of the things that have made America great. Spending a bit of time reflecting on our history and America’s “Great Democracy Experiment,” it was Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich who delivered the important reminder of the sacrifice that continental soldiers made on Christmas Day 1776. “Surely, in the most successful country in history, we can do what is necessary and live in the spirit of General Washington and those soldiers,” opined Gingrich, “I believe we can have as big an impact on helping America remain free in our generation as they did in theirs.” To watch Speaker Gingrich’s message, click here

Fiscal Cliff Negotiations: Sean’s Right Again
A few weeks ago Sean was joined by Senator Jeff Sessions who made headlines criticizing President Obama for having secret negotiations surrounding the fiscal cliff compromises. At that time, Sean angrily told his audience that the House leadership had put revenue-raising measures on the table without the President having matched in compromise. ““The House leadership has put revenue on the table but the President hasn’t put anything,” warned Hannity, “A lot of liberals want us to go over the fiscal cliff because they want higher taxes and the added bonus of cutting defense through sequestration.” At that point Sean, seemingly frustrated beyond belief, predicted, “It’s going to be close to Christmas, I predict, and we’ll have a press release that talks about a great negotiation and the fiscal cliff has been avoided.“ “The real fiscal cliff of dealing with spending won’t have been dealt with,” finish ed Hannity. Now, five weeks after Sean made that prediction we sit on Christmas Day with talk of compromises that are so watered down that they wouldn’t even make a dent in the amount of spending we need to cut. You can read more, here, about the proposed “scaled-back” compromise which many Congressmen are saying is the only way to get a deal done by January.
Reflections from November
While Sean is spending some much needed time with his family today, it’s important that we take a look at all that is happening in Washington and America and give it it’s much needed perspective. The day after Election Day, Sean gave us some comfort and gave us the greatest holiday of all. “Government is one part of your life,” began Hannity, “I’m not going down the road of being depressed and you have to add perspective to things because, in the end, there is still opportunity for people who want it in America.” The numbers show that we’re a divided nation, almost split right down the middle, but it takes grit, determination and resolve to look inward to see what you can do differently or better.” Hannity continued, “You can’t lose an election like yesterday and not be concerned but that’s not panic, this is a moment of reflection and the reality is that America is changing.” “Am erica is not the center-right country that it once was,” concluded Hannity, “There was a moment in time when Winston Churchill, who was viewed as a bit of a nut but eventually England turned to him in their moment of need so we need to recognize the ebb and flow of the political tides and we should all have a little perspective.” To listen to Sean’s “gift of perspective” click here.

What Is A Well Regulated Militia? – Posted by MidAtlantic
I have been thinking a lot about the 2nd amendment recently. Apologies in advance for another gun related thread....but what exactly is a well-regulated militia in the year 2012? And, what does "well-regulated" mean within the context of the 2nd amendment?
