Merry 'Cliff'mas...
Guest hosts Bernard McGuirk, executive producer of the Imus in the Morning Show and Fox News contributor Tamara Holder filled in for the vacationing Sean Wednesday afternoon. The two guest hosts tackled the issue on the minds of most Americans - the looming fiscal cliff. McGuirk noted that President Obama was cutting his Hawaiian vacation short to return to Washington to continue to work on a deal. "The truth of the matter is that the real fiscal cliff isn't coming on January 1st, it's coming down the road. We now know that the Democrats and President Obama are not serious about addressing the real fiscal cliff that is in the future and will hit us like a ton of bricks," McGuirk argued. "Democrats do not want to address our spending problem." Holder disagreed. "The Republicans have been held hostage by the Tea Party and other peopl e because they're afraid to negotiate. Both sides are responsible and both fringe movements are holding their parties hostage because everybody is going to be affected by this. Juan Williams
Fox News contributor, author and columnist Juan Williams joined the second hour of Wednesday's show to give his opinion on the ongoing fiscal cliff negoitiations. "It looks right now that it's Obama and the Senate is where the action is going to take place," Williams told McGuirk and Holder. "For the longest time it's all been about resistance in the House to any increase in the tax rates. I think you've got about ten Republicans in the Senate who would make some kind of deal that would increase the tax rates. So with those Republicans plus the Democrats they can get beyond the filibuster point and then throw it back to the House. Now the question will become, and this is political dynamite, will Boehner go ahead and hold this vote, knowing he will lose half of his caucus and it might pass. Then Boehner will have to face those same people back on January third when he wants to run and retain his job as Speaker of the House. Will House representatives decide it's time f or a coup because they feel Boehner can't organize them, they don't trust him and feel he wasn't a good negotiator and throw him out?" Williams speculated.
What Does Christmas Mean To You?
Pastor Rick Warren is considered to be one of the most influential religious leaders in the country. His book, the purpose driven life has been read by more than 60 million people worldwide and it is currently being re-released to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Before leaving for his annual Christmas vacation, Sean sat down with Pastor Warren to talk about the meaning of Christmas. "The very first Christmas the angels said three things. Those three things are the three purposes of Christmas. Celebration. Salvation. Reconciliation. Here are the three things. The first thing the angel announced is, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all people. Christmas is a time to celebrate and America right now needs to celebrate. People are down, they're discouraged. We've had four, nearly five years of bad economic news. We need a party," Warren told Sean. "We need to celebrate. We need -- I bring you good news of great joy. By the way which shal l be for all people," added Warren. To watch Sean's entire interview with Pastor Warren, please click here.

Today's "Hot Topic" On The Hannity Forums:
Mental Illness and Guns - Orygun

Just thought I'd open up a topic that most conservatives and liberals agree with. The dangerously mentally ill should not have access to guns. Right now the main way of denying a mentally ill person a gun is to check to see if they were court committed. Let's look at this process. Right now if someone is suicidal or a danger to others they are placed on a hospital hold that lasts a number of days depending on the state. A county evaluator interviews them a day or two after they are held and makes a determination if they need to stay longer or if they need to go to mental health court. The vast share of people who are hospitalized for mental illness are released in days or a couple weeks.
