"That’s Why I Pray"
Sean was joined by country music superstar John Rich to talk about his song, “That’s Why I Pray,” which has found a new meaning in recent weeks. At it’s core, “That’s Why I Pray” is a song about the negativity throughout our society and how our religion is constantly squeezed out of our daily lives. “This song says something that everyone is thinking,” explained Rich, “I don’t care what side of politics you’re on or what your religion is, everyone is thinking ‘that’s why I pray.’” Rich continued, “From the fan reaction, this is the biggest we’ve seen.” “There are so many negative things in this world,” continued Rich, “This is one that has a positive spin on it.” There certainly is a strong message of hope in what has been a troubling year. As we continue to work our way through the holiday season, it’s important to ta ke a step back and reflect on all the good that’s in the world and this song helps to do just that. Congressmen Huelskamp and Gohmert
Sean was joined by Congressmen Tim Huelskamp of Kansas and Louie Gohmert of Texas to discuss the ongoing fiscal cliff negotiations. “House Speaker John Boehner has a proposal which will raise taxes on households that make more than a million dollars and that would include small businesses,” began Hannity, “However, the White House has already opposed it.” “What they’re saying is ‘here, raise taxes and we’ll come along with cuts later’,” explained Gohmert, “I’d like to go back to the Pelosi-Reed budget in 2008, it’s around $2.5 trillion which would cut over a trillion dollars from where President Obama is.” “If a deal is not going to be reached, would it be good for the Republicans to pass their own bill,” asked Hannity, “What are we going to do?” “This is exactly the trap that the president would like Republicans to walk into,” a frustrated Huelskamp off ered, “We’ve heard that Congressman Boehner offered a trillion dollar increase in revenues, I call that a tax increase, and he put that on the table.” As Congress continues this battle it’s important to realize that there are no winners in a weak compromise that waters down request for responsible fiscal restraint and voters will remember this in November. With America’s future hanging in the balance, there is no room for wishy-washy legislators who’re not committed to balancing our budget.  Watch Sean’s interview with Congressman Huelskamp and Gohmert   here
9 Trillion Dollars
Senator Jeff Sessions joined Sean to give the latest updates to the fiscal cliff negotiations. “Overall, President Obama’s plan would produce $9 trillion in new debt over the next ten years and, by 2016, yearly federal spending would eclipse $4 trillion,” offered Senator Sessions earlier this month, “This would include a 30 percent increase in welfare costs.” “Senator Harry Reid has said he’s going home,” complained Hannity, “Considering the Senate has been so diligent in doing their constitutional duty handling spending bills, this is not surprising.” “This country is on a dangerous path,” bluntly argued Sessions, “The problem though is that we have to pass a law or taxes will go up on all Americans.” Sessions continued, “The Plan B would be a decent solution but Harry Reid is now saying we won’t bring anything up so this is not surprising but we need to be aggressive in messa ging that the House has laid out plans we could act on.” “Does Plan B give up on a conservative principle,” asked Hannity, “Specifically spending, aren’t we really heading for a deep dive?” “We absolutely have to address the problem of spending,” agreed Sessions, “President Obama is insisting on $1.3 trillion in new taxes and increase spending, this is the tax and spend thing we’re dealing with.” As the battle wages, it’ll be really interesting to see how far conservative members of Congress will go in protecting our core values. Today's "Hot Topic" From the Hannity Forums:
Benghazi Report? - Posted by MargaretMS
Yeah, I know you want the House to do its own investigation and begin the impeachment process, or at least have a head-banged Hillary Clinton in for grilling. After all the hoo-ha, not a single thread on this (even a day after it came out?) That’s kinda curious. At the very least, we could expect people here to denounce the report. Hmmm...
