Obama: Protecting Wealthy Binds Republicans
President Obama apparently has the Republican Party all figured out. He told Al Sharpton in a radio interview yesterday: "Well, my sense is that their basic view is that nothing is important enough to raise taxes on wealthy individuals or corporations. And they would prefer to see these kinds of cuts that could slow down our recovery over closing tax loopholes. And that's the thing that binds their party together at this point. This is a major argument, obviously, we've been having for the last three years." Adding to this statement, Al Sharpton then told MSNBC that the President told him that "he did not get all that he wanted from the rich." Well of course not! A $600 billion tax rate increase along with the ObamaCare tax increases isn't enough; Now he has to go after deductions and loopholes in order to increase taxes more. There will never be enough demagoguing against the rich to satisfy this President. This is what drives him ev ery day, and he thinks it is a winning argument with the American people. Conscious Capitalism
John Mackey, co-Founder of Whole Foods Markets and co-author of the book, "Conscious Capitalism: Liberating the Heroic Spirit of Business" joined Sean on Friday's show to discuss the economy. "We believe that business is good because it creates value, it is ethical because it is based on voluntary exchange, it is noble because it can elevate our existence, and it is heroic because it lifts people out of poverty and creates prosperity. Free-enterprise capitalism is the most powerful system for social cooperation and human progress ever conceived. It is one of the most compelling ideas we humans have ever had. But we can aspire to something even greater," writes the outspoken entrepreneur. As a leader of the Conscious Capitalism movement, Mackey argues that aspiring leaders and business builders need to continue on this path of transformation - for the good of both business and society as a whole. Outrageous Statement of the Day: Ed Markey
Democrat Rep. Ed Markey, who is running for John Kerry's open Senate seat in Massachusetts, came up with a pretty boneheaded comment. In trying to express his outrage with the Supreme Court's Citizen's United case regarding campaign finance laws, Markey said the following: "The constitution must be amended. The Dred Scott decision had to be repealed, we have to repeal Citizens United." Really Congressman? You are going to compare the Citizens United decision to the court's decision to uphold slavery? If a Republican were to make a remark comparing any decision to that of the horrendous Dred Scott decision, there would be outrage among liberals, Democrats, the Congressional Black Caucus or any other group who finds it offensive to compare nearly anything to slavery. Study: Conservatives More Likely to Feel Disgust - Chuangtzu

Several studies would appear to indicate that the emotional underpinning of political conservatism is a more pervasive sense of disgust than with liberal counterparts. The first tested physical responses to a series of images, and shows a strong tendency for people who identify as conservative to elicit more obvious and more deeply felt disgust responses.
