Proven leadership
Dear John, I am writing to ask you to make a year-end contribution to The Heritage Foundation. When I handed over the reins of Heritage in April after more than three decades as president, conservatives were glum. I'm sure you were like me: anxious about Obamacare's devastating impact, worried about ongoing threats to our Constitution, and uncertain of our movement's future. But I knew I was leaving Heritage in Jim DeMint's capable hands. He has demonstrated bold leadership and a willingness to take on the liberal Washington Establishment during his first nine months as Heritage's president. Heritage has done great things in 2013 to champion the conservative principles that you and I believe in. And Heritage remains your voice in Washington. Heritage led the way on critical battles to limit the size and scope of government -- on Obamacare, on subsidies to farm special interests, on misguided United Nations treaties that would strip our sovereignty, and on plans to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants. And Heritage launched the American Perceptions Project to help us conservatives refine our message and broaden the appeal of America's enduring principles. As 2013 draws to a close, your generous donation to Heritage will help us continue to fight for America’s founding principles. Thank you for being a committed conservative. Onward! Ed Feulner |
