Lowest Approval Ever
The latest Washington Post-ABC News poll reveals that Barack Obama's approval rating is at its lowest in his presidency.  Just 41% of Americans approve of the job he's doing as president, compared to 52% who disapprove. From Ukraine to the economy to healthcare, it's clear that the American people aren't all that pleased with Obama's performance as president.  On Ukraine, only 34% approve of Obama's handling of the situation with 46% disapproving.  On the economy, 54% of Americans disapprove of how he's handling it compared to 42% who approve. Also troubling for Democrats is the question of who should be in control of Congress.  A majority of Americans, 53%, want Republicans to control the Congress in order to check Obama's policies.  Just 39% of Americans want Democrats in Congress in order to support Obama's policies.  Couple this with a general enthusiasm gap and the midterm elections are starting to look scary for Democrats, similar to the way things looked before the 2010 midterm elections. The polling is so bad that even MSNBC's Morning Joe labeled Barack Obama “politically toxic” for Democrats seeking re-election.

Behind The Numbers
The ObamaCare numbers should be troubling to all Democrats because more Americans still oppose the law, including a majority of independent voters.  Remember that a recent Fox New poll found that by a 54-29 percent margin, independent voters say they would back the anti-ObamaCare candidate.”  A clear majority, 57%, disapprove of the way Obama has handled the implementation of ObamaCare.  It wasn't all that long ago when Obama bragged about the 8 million ObamaCare signups, stating “this thing is working.”  Looks like the American people disagree.  In fact, another poll conducted by McLaughlin & Associates found that ObamaCare would be the one thing the American people would choose to undo, if given the choice.  By a wide margin, too.

Outrageous: John Kerry
Secretary of State John Kerry has taken a lot of heat for his recent comments about Israel. In a closed-door meeting with world leaders, Kerry equated the situation in Israel to apartheid by saying, "A two-state solution will be clearly underscored as the only real alternative. Because a unitary state winds up either being an apartheid state with second-class citizens-or it ends up being a state that destroys the capacity of Israel to be a Jewish state.  Once you put that frame in your mind, that reality, which is the bottom line, you understand how imperative it is to get to the two-state solution, which both leaders, even yesterday, said they remain deeply committed to." The reference to apartheid - institutionalized discrimination - in conjunction with our closest ally Israel is remarkably alarming.  The reaction from both sides of the aisle was immediate.  House Majority Leader Eric Cantor called for an apology while Senator Ted Cruz called for his resignation. Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer called the remarks "nonsensical and ridiculous." As you would expect, Kerry has since backed away from his comments.  His attempt to clarify his remarks went as follows: "I have been around long enough to also know the power of words to create a misimpression, even when unintentional, and if I could rewind the tape, I would have chosen a different word to describe my firm belief that the only way in the long term to have a Jewish state and two nations and two peoples living side by side in peace and security is through a two-state solution." It's hard to believe that Kerry would be so careless with his words on a subject that is so incredibly delicate and charged.  And it's not as if he is an average citizen, a radio host or even a senator; he's now the Secretary of State!  This administration has managed to show more restraint and respect to our enemies than it has our allies.  That is a big problem.
