Let's end the imperial presidency

The Heritage Foundation

Dear John,

Congress writes our laws. Not the President.

President Obama is considering nothing less than an unprecedented power grab that ignores the Constitution, rejects common sense, and scorns the American people.

He plans to use executive authority to unilaterally grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. This cannot stand.

The Heritage Foundation is launching an urgent national drive to secure at least 200,000 signed open letters demanding that Congress act to defend the Constitution and reject this bad amnesty plan. And I’m asking for you to take action now.

The simple fact is that our Constitution’s under attack. There is no time to wait.  I urge you to sign this open letter to prove you don't approve of this Imperial Presidency.

President Obama and his agencies, cabinet members, and czars are brazenly violating the Constitution. That's why Heritage's analysts are already doing the urgent work that must be done -- analyzing President Obama’s alarming actions, educating the American people, and showing Congress the steps they are entitled to take to stop and reverse this unconstitutional overreach by the executive branch.

Heritage will use your signed open letter to call on Congress to reclaim its constitutional authority and put an end to this abuse of power.

Sign the open letter today.

For the sake of the country we love, we must be successful.  It is time to be brave, do the right thing and stand up for America.  With the stakes this high, will you help us by signing the open letter?

Thank you for your courage.

Sincerely,
Jim
Jim DeMint
President
