RAND PAUL LAUNCHED  ANOTHER FILIBUSTER ON THE FLOOR OF THE SENATE THIS AFTERNOON, RAILING AGAINST THE REAUTHORIZATION OF THE PATRIOT ACT.

Listen to Rand Paul as he filibusters the Patriot Act on the senate floor, The Patriot Act WOULD NOT Have Stopped the September 11th attacks. Rand Paul kicked off another filibuster on the floor of the Senate this afternoon, railing against the reauthorization of the PATRIOT Act.

In 2013 Rand Paul held a 13-hour filibuster over drone strikes in 2013, forcing a debate on the matter. This time, Paul’s focused squarely on the infamous Section 215 of the PATRIOT Act, allowing for NSA bulk collection of Americans’ phone records.

Paul said yesterday he will do “whatever it takes to stop” reauthorization, and he started speaking around 1:20 pm EST from the Senate floor. He argued that it’s a violation of Americans’ fourth amendment rights and that this kind of thing should not happen in a democracy.

Paul decried the fears of people that “we’ll be overrun with terrorists and ISIS will be in every drugstore and in every house in America if we don’t get rid of the Constitution.”
