TREY GOWDY HOUSE SPEECH ON THE MURDER OF KATE STEINLE AND ENFORCE THE LAW FOR SANCTUARY CITIES ACT
United States Representative Trey Gowdy (Republican -South Carolina) spoke about the death of Kate Steinle, who was killed by an illegal immigrant while walking in San Francisco on July 1, 2015. Representative Gowdy's comments were made during a debate on a bill that revokes federal funding for “sanctuary cities” such as San Francisco that restrict law enforcement from cooperating with Federal authorities pertaining to information on the immigration status of individuals.
