Illegal immigration is not a victimless crime. Both the current state of the law and the refusal to enforce certain aspects of the law allow for the release of tens of thousands of criminal aliens into American communities. Protecting the public from violence and lawlessness is the preeminent function of government, which is why it is unconscionable there are over 350,000 known criminal aliens in the United States who are currently not detained by ICE – larger than the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Can you imagine a city the size of Pittsburgh comprised solely of people who are here unlawfully and have also committed another crime?

On Tuesday, the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security heard from the real victims of the Obama Administration’s reckless and lawless immigration policy – the families and survivors of those who have been killed by criminal aliens. Watch my opening statement below:
