Dr. James Green is the Director of the Planetary Science Division at NASA Headquarters. Jupiter trip. He received his Ph.D. in Space Physics from the University of Iowa in 1979 and began working in the Magnetospheric Physics Branch at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in 1980. Dr. Green developed and managed the Space Physics Analysis Network here that provided scientists all over the world with rapid access to data, to other scientists. From 1985 to 1992 he was the head of the National Space Science Data Center (NSSDC) at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). The NSSDC is NASA's largest space science data archive. In 1992, he became the Chief of the Space Science Data Operations Office until 2005, when he became the Chief of the Science Proposal Support Office. In 1988, he received the Arthur S. Flemming award given for outstanding individual performance in the federal government.

elected in 1989. Prior to Mayor he served as NYS Assemblyman, President of the NYC Board of Elections, City Clerk and Manhattan Borough President. As the first (and only) African American Mayor of NYC, major successes of note under his administration include: "Safe Streets, Safe City: Cops and Kids"; the revitalization of Times Square as we have come to know it; an unprecedented agreement keeping the US Open Tennis Championships in New York City for 99 years – a contract that continues to bring more financial influx to New York City than the Yankees, Mets, Knicks and Rangers COMBINED. Mayor Dinkins joined Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) as a Professor in the Practice of Urban Public Policy in 1994. Prior to running for Congress - in 2003 - Mr. Donovan ran for and won the office of Richmond County District Attorney. Melinda Katz was elected on November 5th - 2013 to serve as the 19th Queens Borough President. Melinda represented a portion of Queens as a City Council Member from 2002 to 2009. Prior to being elected to the Council - Melinda served as Director of Community Boards for Queens Borough. Melinda also represented the same area of Queens in the State Assembly from 1994 to 1999. She served as Chair of the Urban Health Sub-committee - and was responsible for bills that increased penalties for various forms of domestic abuse. Melinda also sponsored and passed the historic Kendall's Law - which helps prosecutors pursue cases of long-term - repeated child abuse.
