Former Speaker Newt & Callista Gingrich is the former Speaker of the House of Representatives.  After the 1994 mid-term elections - Newt Gingrich became the first Republican Speaker of the House in 40 years. While he was House speaker - the House enacted welfare reform - passed a capital gains tax cut in 1997 - and in 1998 passed the first balanced budget since 1969.  Since leaving the House - Gingrich has remained active in public policy debates and works as a political consultant and network political analyst.   Both Mr. Gingrich and his wife Callista have new books (Treason) & Castilla (Hail to the Chief.)   They also have a project which is to educate America and especially young people about our first President George Washington.  The documentary entitled "The first American" was shown at Mt. Vernon, Washington's home, in May.

Kellyanne Conway is a Republican campaign manager, strategist and pollster. She became campaign kelleyanne conwaymanager for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on August 17, 2016 and is largely credited with getting his campaign back on track.  She is president and CEO of The Polling Company / WomanTrend.  Before entering politics, Conway pursued a career in law.  After practicing law for a few years, Conway entered the polling business.  Among the political figures Conway has worked for are Congressman Jack Kemp; former Vice President Dan Quayle; Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich; Senator Fred Thompson; and Congressman (now Indiana Governor) Mike Pence. She worked as the senior advisor to Newt Gingrich during his 2012 United States presidential election campaign.

Most Police shootings are caused by suspects non-compliance


Garry McCarthy is the former Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department.  McCarthy joined the garry mccarthyNew York City Police Department in 1981 at age 22. He rose through the ranks and became Deputy Commissioner of Operations in 2000. McCarthy was in the middle of ground zero during the September 11 attacks, working closely with then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani to operate an emergency response command post.  In 2006, McCarthy left his position with the New York Police Department to take over the Police Department of Newark, New Jersey.  McCarthy presided over a sharp reduction in crime during his tenure in Booker's administration in Newark with homicides declining 28 percent, shootings declining 46 percent, and overall crime declining 21 percent.  In early 2011McCarthy was hired by Mayor Rahm Emanuel to take over the Chicago Police Department shortly after Emanuel's election. McCarthy was terminated by Mayor Emanuel following public dispute over policing methods.

General (Ret) David H. Petraeus served over 37 years in the U.S. military - including tours in Cold War Europe - the United States - Central America - Haiti - Bosnia - Kuwait - Iraq - Afghanistan - and the greater Middle East.  He culminated his military service with six consecutive commands as a general officer - five of which were in combat - including command of:  the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) during the fight to Baghdad and the first year in Iraq; Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq over 15 subsequent months; Multi-National Force-Iraq during the Surge from February 2007 to September 2008; U.S. Central Command from 2008 to 2010; and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan from 2010 to 2011. Following his service in the military - Gen. Petraeus served as the Director of the CIA - leading the Agency during a period that saw significant achievements in the global counter-terrorism effort.  In 2013 he joined the investment firm KKR.

He serves as the chair the City Council's Sub-Committee on Libraries and sits on seven standing committees: Civil Service & Labor - Contracts - Cultural Affairs - Environmental Protection - Oversight & Investigations - Sanitation - and Transportation.  The Councilman was overwhelmingly elected to the City Council by more than 65 percent of the vote - becoming the first Greek-Cypriot-American elected to office in New York City.  The Councilman is considered an expert in environmental law and has written some of the toughest laws to reduce pollution and protect drinking water and most recently a bill just signed into law which requires a mixture of bio fuels in heating oil.
 

Cops don't want to be cops... record number to retire


Patrick Lynch - is the President of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association (PBA -) a union for more than pat lynch  20,000 beat cops in the city's five boroughs.  Lynch joined the NYPD in 1984.  He earned three Exceptional Police Duty awards and also received an Exceptional Merit citation for his actions during a shoot-out with criminals.  He began his union career in 1989 - in the 90th Precinct in Williamsburg - Brooklyn.  In 1999 - Pat led an insurgent team of reform-minded delegates who fought against that corruption and - won the presidency of the NYC PBA - the world's largest police union.  President Lynch is infuriated about the lack of retirement care for cops injured on duty - and pay raise of 1% raise over 2 years - while the NY City Council just awarded themselves a 71% increase.

Rebecca Harary is the Republican candidate for the New York State Assembly's District 73., Manhattan's upper Eastside.  Ms. Harary identifies herself as a "Mike Bloomberg Republican." Ed Mullins - President Sergeants Benevolent Association - has been a member of the New York City mullinsPolice Department since January 1982. On July 1 - 2002 - he was elected President of the Sergeants Benevolent Association by an overwhelming majority of its members. As President of the SBA - one of New York City's most visible labor unions - and one of the largest police unions in the nation - he oversees the daily administrative and operational functions of an 11 -000 member organization with assets in excess of $180 million - he is the organization's chief spokesman - advocate and visionary. He serves as Chairman and Trustee to the union's Health Benefits Fund and Annuity Fund. He is a Trustee for the New York City Police Pension Fund - with fiscal holdings estimated to be in excess of $16 billion.
