Governor Ed Rendell served as the 45th Governor of Pennsylvania - from 2003 to 2011 - Democrat.  He was Chairman of the Democratic National Committee during the 2000 presidential election.  From 2008 to 2009 - Governor Rendell was the Chairman of the National Governors Association.   Prior to being elected Governor - Rendell was Mayor of Philadelphia from 1992 – 2000 - and prior to that was the District Attorney of Philadelphia from 1978-1986.  In April 2011 - Rendell joined Element Partners - a Philadelphia-based cleantech investment firm - as an Operating Partner.  Rendell is an expert on US infrastructure.  As Governor, Rendell worked with Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to create an organization called “Building America’s Future.” Governor Rendell currently serves as Co-Chair of the organization.  Governor Rendell was chairman of the very successful Democratic Convention in Philadelphia.

Senator Richard Blumenthal is serving his first term as a United States Senator from the State ofblumenthal Connecticut.   Senator Blumenthal served an unprecedented five terms as Connecticut’s Attorney General - fighting for people against large and powerful special interests. His aggressive law enforcement for consumer protection - environmental stewardship - labor rights - and personal privacy has helped reshape the role of state attorneys general nationwide - and resulted in the recovery of hundreds of millions of dollars for Connecticut taxpayers and consumers each year.  From 1977 to 1981 - Senator Blumenthal served as a U.S. Attorney for Connecticut - prosecuting drug trafficking - organized and white collar crime - civil rights violations - consumer fraud - and environmental pollution. He served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from 1984 to 1987 - and the Connecticut State Senate from 1987 to 1990.

Douglas Schoen is a political analyst - pollster - author - and commentator. He is a political analyst for Fox News and a columnist for Newsmax.  He is a founding partner and principal strategist for Penn - Schoen and Berland and has worked on the campaigns of many Democratic Party candidates including Ed Koch and Bill Clinton.  He also did work for Senator Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign and following her defeat became associated with the People United Means Action movement of disaffected Clinton supporters who refused to support Barack Obama.  Schoen is considered one of the leading pollsters/political advisors in the Country.  Schoen is the author of many books the latest just out - “The Nixon Effect.”
 
Can the Country come together after November 8?

Congressman Vito Fossella, is a Republican who represented the state's 13th Congressional district in fossellathe U.S. House of Representatives for six terms - from 1997 to 2009 serving as the lone Republican from New York City.  Before being elected to the House of Representatives - Mr. Fossella served in the New York City Council - representing Staten Island.  While at the City Council - he authored legislation that led to the agreement to permanently close the Fresh Kills Landfill an major issue with the island borough.  While in Congress - Fossella was successful in returning over $700 million to individual investors by eliminating fees by the SEC.  He also repaired the 86th Street subway station in the Bay Ridge area of Brooklyn.

Election history Mayor Philip Levine, Mayor of Miami Beach Florida.  For 30 years, Philip Levine has been an integral member of the Miami Beach community. Over the years, Philip has established a number of successful Miami Beach-based businesses, creating hundreds of job opportunities for local and area residents while contributing to the city’s tax-revenue base.  Philip is actively involved with the Clinton Global Initiative, an organization that implements innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. He is also on the board of directors for Best Buddies International, the Miami-based nonprofit organization that creates opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.  In November 2013, Philip was elected Mayor of Miami Beach.  He received 50.48% of the total vote in a four-person race.

Patrick Buchanan has been a senior advisor to three Presidents - a two-time candidate for the buchananRepublican presidential nomination - and was the presidential nominee of the Reform Party in 2000.  From 1966 through 1974 - Mr. Buchanan was an assistant to Richard Nixon.  Leaving the White House in 1974 - Mr. Buchanan became a syndicated columnist and founding member of three of the most enduring talk shows in television history: NBC’s The McLaughlin Group - and CNN’s Capital Gang and Crossfire.  From 1985 to 1987 - he was the White House Director of Communications for Ronald Reagan.  Mr. Buchanan has written ten books - including six straight New York Times best sellers.   Mr. Buchanan is currently a columnist - chairman of The American Cause foundation and an editor of The American Conservative.

Eric Schneiderman is the 65th and current New York Attorney General a Democrat.  He was elected on November 2 - 2010. He is the highest ranking law enforcement officer for the State.  Before being elected Attorney General - Schneiderman previously represented the 31st District in the New York State Senate - the upper Westside of Manhattan.  Schneiderman is a former Chairman of the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee.  The Attorney General previously served as a public interest lawyer - representing tenants trying to evict drug dealers from their buildings - women seeking access to health clinics - and taxpayers in historic lawsuits against the MTA.  He also spent 15 years in private practice at the firm of Kirkpatrick and Lockhart.
 
The Senate and balance of power

Senator John Flanagan is the President and Majority Leader of the New York.  He is Republican.  He flanaganrepresents the Second Senate District - which includes the entire Town of Smithtown and portions of the Town of Brookhaven and the Town of Huntington. He was first elected to represent this part of Suffolk County in 2002 and overwhelmingly reelected in 2004- 2014.  In addition to his role as the Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Education - Senator Flanagan also serves on the Committees on Codes; Corporations - Authorities and Commissions; Finance; Higher Education; Insurance; Judiciary; Rules and Veterans - Homeland Security and Military Affairs.  Senator Flanagan is proudly following the path of his father - the late John Flanagan - who served in the New York State Assembly from 1972 to 1986.

Senator Joseph M. Kyrillos, Jr. began serving New Jersey's 13th Legislative District in 1988 when he kyrilloswas elected to the General Assembly. After spending two terms in the Assembly he was elected to the Senate where he has served since 1992.  Majority Conference Leader and committee chairman when his party served in the majority, Senator Kyrillos currently sits on the Senate Economic Growth, Judiciary, and Legislative Oversight committees. He was the Chairman of the New Jersey Republican State Committee from 2001-2004 and New Jersey Chairman for Mitt Romney's 2008 presidential campaign. In 2009, he served as the Chairman of Governor Chris Christie's successful campaign and was a member of his transition committee serving as the liaison to all transition sub-committees. In 2012, Senator Kyrillos was the Republican nominee for the United States Senate.

Miller, a hedgefunder who served as Mitt Romney’s New York finance director for his 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns.  Is the founder of the high successful The Empire Report, (http://empirereportnewyork.com/) which started earlier this year and is the latest aggregator site to compile a list of the day’s top news.  This site centers its attention on New York.  The site was created and is operated by Mr. Miller. Miller, who quit his hedge fund job in May to run the operation full-time, said he is not looking to make his site a partisan one.  “Progressives and conservatives and everyone in-between are loyal readers,” he said. “Following New York politics can be confusing…we keep it simple and provocative and always fresh.”
