He was a Saint

Dear Friend,

Let’s get one thing straight – it’s not “Valentine’s Day.” It’s “Saint Valentine’s Day.” He was a martyr after all: Val has earned his title. So, let’s show some respect.

Much obliged. And now that we have that settled, let me back away from the vibe of hostility and try to get you in the frame of mind to think romance, sea, and gift. (That will be a neat trick.)

That will also require some mood music, so how about Charles Trenet singing his classic, La Mer (next time I’ll hit up Bobby Darin).

Sweet, isn’t it? Good, now here’s the pitch: For a most special St. Valentine’s Day gift for the one you love, adore, worship, would die for, why not reserve a beautiful, stunning, dare I say romantic (dare I also say affordable?), stateroom on the National Review 2017 Trans-Atlantic Crossing, scheduled for August 31 to September 7 aboard Cunard Line’s majestic Queen Mary 2, which will depart from Southampton in the UK and over the next week be the happy locus for conservative talk and revelry as it heads for Brooklyn, USA.

Ain’t she a thing of beauty? Elegant? Deserving of you and your better half’s company for a delightful week?

Yes. Yes. And, yes.

And yes: You can afford this. On the National Review 2017 Trans-Atlantic Crossing, there is a well-appointed, comfortable cabin to meet every level of taste and affordability. Prices start at an only $2,577 (per person) for couples, and single rates are as low as $3,916. No, you're not in steerage. And yes, the prices are all inclusive — all meals, all activities, fees and taxes, all NR events (our daily seminar sessions, our revelrous receptions and smokers).

If you've always wanted to do this trip (and who doesn’t?) then do it in the company of some great conservative stars and the editors of your favorite magazine and website (and about 300 wonderful fellow conservatives).

Visit www.nrcruise.com for complete details. And email me at jfowler@nationalreview.com if you have any questions. You can also call the friendly folks at The Cruise and Vacation Authority at 888-283-8965 (Monday to Friday, 9AM to 5PM, eastern time): They'd be thrilled to answer your questions and help you to get the stateroom you desire.

Imagine the smile you’ll bring to your loved one when you announce your Saint Valentine’s Day gift! Go on – do it! Book that stateroom, right now.

I look forward to seeing you in August on the National Review 2017 Trans-Atlantic Crossing.

Best,

Jack Fowler, Vice President
