Did you see what happened in Georgia?

John,

I hope you are well.

The recent special election in Georgia was a real eye-opener. Considered a major referendum on the Trump presidency, this election was touted by Democrats as a chance for "the people" to prove that Trump's win in last year's election was a fluke, and that even in a Republican district, the people are so outraged and fed up with Trump that they would vote for the liberal candidate, Jon Ossoff, as a show of "the resistance" to Trump and his policies.

Of course, that was before the Georgia election. When Ossoff was soundly defeated, it was a real eye-opener to many liberals that their views might not be as widely held by "the people" as they thought.

But in many ways, this election was an eye-opener to conservatives as well. It opened our eyes to just how desperate Democrats are to claw back seats in Congress. They spent a staggering $30 million to try to buy back just that one House seat!

Republicans may have the majority in Congress right now, but not by an overwhelming margin, and Democrats will do anything they can to turn the tides.

The liberals lost this round, but believe me, they aren't giving up, and there will be more opportunities for them to gain ground in the future.

That's why we must act now to give President Trump and Congress conservative policies that they can sign into law. The clock is ticking, and this moment of opportunity won't last forever.

Members of Heritage's Board of Trustees know this—that's why they have offered to match each gift given from now until August 15.

Please give a tax-deductible donation to the work Heritage is doing to strengthen our country. When you do, your gift will be matched by members of our Board of Trustees, who have pledged to give up to $1 million in matching funds.

That means your contribution will go twice as far, if you give today, before the deadline. Please give today: https://secured.heritage.org/_2017/board_challenge/.

Gratefully,
