NEW YORK CITY • GOTHAM HALL
 WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25

Dear Friend,

As a conservative, I place tremendous value on the National Review mission, which has guided the movement since Bill Buckley founded the magazine in 1955. I am pleased to serve as a trustee of National Review Institute, which is hosting its fourth annual Buckley Prize Dinner this fall honoring Bruce and Suzie Kovner and Tom Wolfe, meaningful leaders of the conservative movement. All funds raised go to support NRI, and I enthusiastically encourage you to join us for this remarkable evening.

Sincerely,

Ambassador John Bolton

Please join us on Wednesday, October 25 for NRI's fourth annual William F. Buckley Jr. Prize Dinner at Gotham Hall in New York City honoring our close friends, Tom Wolfe and Bruce and Suzie Kovner.

The annual William F. Buckley Jr. Prize Dinner brings together an audience of conservative leaders,
philanthropists, and friends of National Review Institute from around the country to celebrate the lasting legacy of William F. Buckley Jr and our esteemed honorees. The William F. Buckley Jr. Prize was created to honor those who advance the principles Buckley championed during his lifetime and foster the conservative movement that he helped launch.

To honor WFB's achievement and inspire others, National Review Institute's Board of Trustees created the William F. Buckley Jr. Prizes for Leadership in Political Thought and Leadership in Supporting Liberty. We hope you will join us this year in New York City.

THIS YEAR'S HONOREES
RECOGNIZING ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN THE ARTS & LETTERS

TOM WOLFE
Introduced by Christopher Buckley

The Prize for Leadership in Political Thought will be awarded to Tom Wolfe, recognizing his acclaimed writing and his influence on American culture over five decades. Bill Buckley had a cherished friendship with Mr. Wolfe, and admired him as a unique man of letters. In 1970, on one of several Firing Line episodes with Mr. Wolfe, WFB described his guest as "probably the most skillful writer in America . . .he can do more things with words than anyone else."

BRUCE AND SUZIE KOVNER
Introduced by Arthur Brooks

The Prize for Leadership in Supporting Liberty, which recognizes conservative philanthropy, will be awarded to Bruce and Suzie Kovner for their support and leadership of organizations that defend private enterprise, free markets and free trade, protect individual rights, and promote scholarly research that strengthens American democratic principles; for their support of education reform, particularly charter schools; and for their leadership of the major performing arts institutions of New York City. Bill Buckley loved free enterprise, classical liberalism, conservative policy reform, and the arts-especially music. Like Bill, Mr. Kovner plays the harpsichord. WFB also admired the kind of philanthropy in which the Kovners have engaged for many years.
