Pity the poor pollsters. Somebody's going to look bad tonight. The final Fox News poll had Democrat Doug Jones up by ten points, the Emerson poll had Republican Roy Moore up by eleven points, and the Monmouth survey found a tie. But it's not entirely the pollsters' fault! Some portion of Alabama Republicans don't want to tell a pollster that they're voting for Moore, and some portion of Alabama Republicans don't want to tell a pollster that they've voting for a Democrat. The accuracy of each poll is probably heavily influenced by who's in the room with the persons being polled.
