What you can do to impact America
John, I would like to take a moment today and tell you about the tremendous impact that patriots like you are having on the future of America, as members of The Heritage Foundation. Since its founding 45 years ago, Heritage Foundation members have allowed Heritage to shine as a leading center of excellence. They've helped to generate solutions for our nation and provided fortitude to our allies and freedom-loving people around the world. The impact our members make possible can be seen in so many ways—legislative and regulatory reforms that preserve liberty, expanded opportunity, enhancing the nation's prosperity, and the promotion of a civil society; hearings, conferences, and media appearances featuring our highly-regarded scholars; and our recent ranking as the most influential think tank in the world by the University of Pennsylvania. In 2016, we saw another opportunity for impact and, though the election outcome was months away, Heritage scholars again went to work drafting an extensive report containing 321 policy recommendations for the incoming administration. Our work was embraced by the new President, Donald Trump. We met with senior Administration officials and briefed key decision makers on our recommendations, providing additional insight and information. Heritage analysts conducted an audit to determine the extent to which of the Administration's actions related to the our recommendations. This report, Blueprint for Impact, is the culmination of that report. I am proud to report an unprecedented 64 percent of Heritage's recommendations were embraced by the Trump Administration in just the first year in office. This is an extraordinary achievement, not solely for The Heritage Foundation but for all Americans who will benefit from the conservative solutions. Read the Blueprint for Impact >> This is just the beginning: Rather than rest on our laurels, we will continue our work to advance free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense. All the best, |
