President Trump called on attorney general Jeff Sessions to end special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian election interference in a Wednesday morning tweet.

..This is a terrible situation and Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further. Bob Mueller is totally conflicted, and his 17 Angry Democrats that are doing his dirty work are a disgrace to USA!

While he has regularly lambasted Mueller’s investigation as a biased "witch hunt," the tweet represents the first time in which Trump has publicly called on Sessions, who recused himself from all Russia-related matters last year, to end the investigation.
