| Dear NR Friend, Our webathons might be annoying to many of you, but they are inspiring to us. We are now at over $240,000 in the last three weeks and have had more than 1,700 donors, most of them chipping in relatively small amounts. This is an amazing response, especially given all that's going on. It's a testament to your abiding commitment to the cause, to what NR does, and to your disgust with the legal harassment that NR has been subjected to by the climate scientist Michael Mann for seven years now. You have our back, and it means the world to us. The purpose of this latest missive is to let you know our overall goal for this drive is $275,000. We are nearly there and are confident we can achieve it and surpass it with your help. We believe there are another 1,700 of you out there who have read one of these pitches, or at least skimmed through one, or—OK—glanced at a couple of the headlines, and thought, "Yeah, I should do that, but I'm too busy right now. Maybe I'll get around to it next week, or to be honest, next year." This is a call for you, with all due respect, to get off the dime and just do it. We don't need a lot from any one person. Most of our contributions are of $50 or $100. It adds up. But we do need another increment of people generous and supportive enough to click here—we've tried to make it as easy as possible—and contribute to the cause. As I said in my prior pitch, we don't know if Michael Mann has an anonymous backer of his long-running litigation against us, but if he does, we can be sure that this funder didn't need much prodding to pay for the effort to drain us of time and money over the course of many years. Now, we need people equally willing to step up and help us defend ourselves and our First Amendment rights. Many of you have already done that, and we appreciate it greatly.
