Here’s How Much the Formal Impeachment Inquiry Has Cost Taxpayers So Far

Good morning from Washington on the day after House Democrats adopt two articles of impeachment that make Donald Trump the third president in U.S. history to be subjected to the constitutional process. We have a roundup of some of the rhetoric, analysis on the podcast, and an estimate of the bill so far for taxpayers. Plus: Virginia's new "progressive prosecutors," the problem with nationalism, and special rights for the homeless. On this date in 1998, interestingly, the House approves two articles of impeachment against President Bill Clinton, charging him with obstructing justice and lying to a federal grand jury.
