The Cost of Riots

Jun 06, 2020

Good morning from Washington, where President Trump celebrates the surprising good news of the biggest economic rebound in over 80 years as the nation begins to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. Fred Lucas reports on that and on D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser's apparent disdain for lodging sleep-starved National Guard troops in city hotels even though they're protecting her streets and citizens. Plus: China makes its move; friends and family remember George Floyd; and describing violence as, well, violence. On this date in 1944, the Allies invade northern France to begin the defeat of Nazi Germany on what we now know as D-Day. Be safe this weekend.
