Dear Fellow Conservative,
Did you know it takes the average reader about an hour to read 40 pages of text?
I didn't, but I felt compelled to look it up. Here's why:
On December 20th's Lame Duck session, Congress passed the 4,155-page Omnibus Bill, packing some $1.85 TRILLION into this year's fiscal budget, just one day after the bill was introduced.
A quick back-of-the-envelope calculation says that it would take someone roughly 103 hours to read 4,155 pages. Which begs the question: did anyone actually read this behemoth, pork-packed bill before it was passed the very next day?
Well our analysts have read it ... and here are just a few of the special interest earmarks we uncovered:
- $1.2 million for "LGBTQIA+ Pride Centers"
- $1.2 million for "services for DACA recipients" (aka helping illegal aliens with taxpayer funds) at San Diego Community College
- $1 million for Zora's House in Ohio, a "co-working and community space" for "women and gender-expansive people of color"
- $3 million for the American LGBTQ+ Museum in New York City
- $3.6 million for a Michelle Obama Trail in Georgia
That's $10 million of YOUR money being used to fund The Radical Left's extreme agenda.
What's worse: the Omnibus Bill will increase the federal deficit by $2.65 trillion over the next 10 years—$20,000 per household.
Which means even higher inflation at a time when 42% of Americans have less than $1,000 in their savings accounts.
With the Treasury—and therefore the taxpayer—already $31.5 trillion in debt, our federal government's reckless spending cannot be allowed to continue.
This is why the Heritage enterprise is working on your behalf to secure the passage of a fiscally responsible budget resolution including at least 50 of the 200 specific policy recommendations found in our 2023 Budget Blueprint.
These efforts will right-size the federal government and drive down inflation to keep more of your hard-earned money where it belongs—with you and your family.
But we need your help: our 50 years of experience fighting on behalf of our members has taught us that policymakers tend to be more responsive when they know conservatives are demanding reform.
So if this issue matters to you, please take action now by signing your name to our urgent pledge for fiscal reform.
Armed with the names of thousands of fiscally responsible citizens like you, we will pressure lawmakers to do more than offer empty promises and pursue meaningful fiscal policy solutions today.
It only takes one minute to sign your name to this pledge using the secure link below:
