Nineteen dead in attacks on churches and synagogue in southern Russia . . . Attacks on police posts, churches and a synagogue in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Dagestan have left 19 police officers and several civilians dead. Six gunmen were also killed. At least sixteen people were taken to hospitals with injuries. Three days of mourning have been declared in Dagestan, a predominantly Muslim republic in southern Russia that neighbors Chechnya. The apparently coordinated attacks targeted the cities of Derbent and Makhachkala on the Orthodox festival of Pentecost, with an Orthodox priest among those killed. BBC

Trump facing possible second gag order . . . The federal judge presiding over the classified documents prosecution of Donald Trump is hearing arguments Monday on whether to bar the former president from public comments that prosecutors say could endanger the lives of FBI agents working on the case. Special counsel Jack Smith's team says the restrictions are necessary in light of Trump's false comments that the FBI agents who searched his Mar-a-Lago estate in August 2022 for classified documents were out to kill him and his family. Trump's lawyers say any gag order would improperly silence Trump in the heat of a presidential campaign in which he is the presumptive Republican nominee. Associated Press

Newly promoted Biden aide has called for abolishing ICE and likened policing to slave patrols . . . A White House official who stoked controversy with social media posts attacking police, supporting the anti-Israel movement, and promoting "Russiagate," is now downplaying these posts, saying that they were written when he was younger and do not reflect his current views. Tyler Cherry was promoted last week as an associate communications director at the White House, after more than three years at the Department of Interior working for Secretary Deb Haaland. The promotion brought renewed attention to some of Cherry's past incendiary posts. Fox News

Former President Donald Trump left a $500 tip at a cheesesteak sandwich shop in Philadelphia on Saturday while campaigning on the idea of getting rid of federal taxes on tips if re-elected to the White House. Video posted to X by a communications aide showed Trump at Tony & Nick's Steaks ahead of a rally at Temple University, surrounded by people and signing a receipt. "I'm going to give you 500 bucks. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) demanded that President Joe Biden submit to a drug test before and after his debate with former President Donald Trump. Republicans have long accused Biden of using performance-enhancing drugs to appear more agile, a charge the White House has repeatedly denied. Nurse blows the whistle on Texas children's hospital trans treatment agenda . . . A nurse at the nation's largest children's hospital says doctors pressured parents to give their kids hormone therapy and other transgender medicine interventions — warning that their children might kill themselves if they held off on treatments. Vanessa Sivadge said that doctors there are more driven by "ideology" than what was best for the youths, many of whom had additional underlying problems. "Parents were manipulated by doctors with an ideological agenda to go down this path of medical transition for their child," Sivadge. New York Post
Women's group speak out against military draft bill . . . .A coalition of conservative activists and policy experts is urging Congress to reject a bill making women eligible to be drafted into the military. Concerned Women for America, sent a letter with dozens of individual co-signers in response to the Senate Armed Services Committee's approving an annual defense package containing the controversial draft provision. "This monumental policy change would force the U.S. military to erase key biological differences between males and females that will affect readiness in wartime," reads Concerned Women for America's letter Thursday. Amir Odom, a creator who has spoken out about walking away from the Black Lives Matter movement and other left-leaning beliefs after being "red-pilled," said he is angry at liberals and how their values have evolved in the current political landscape. "This trans topic … It's lit a fire under a lot of people on the Left, because the second someone on the Left, all they have to say is, 'I don't agree with the trans kids [thing].' Boom. 'Urgency' needed on terrorism threats, former CIA official says . . . Former CIA deputy director Mike Morell warned Sunday that there is "a lack of sense of urgency" among the Biden administration and Congress to prevent the growing threat of terrorism in the United States. "There needs to be a sense of urgency about this, and I think the American public needs to understand what the threat is," he said Earlier this month, Morell co-authored a piece titled "The Terrorism Warning Lights Are Blinking Red Again" in Foreign Affairs, comparing present national security concerns to the lead-up to the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. In the article, he pointed to the potential for attacks on U.S. soil motivated by Hamas' Oct. 7 attacks and Israel's war in Gaza, as well the vulnerability of the southern border. Politico
Qatari foreign agents secretly paid $250K for PBS documentary . . . Qatar, is the oil-rich gulf monarchy that harbors Hamas and other terrorist groups. A Qatari-backed front group, Yemen Crisis Watch, paid $250,000 to travel journalist Burt Wolf from September 2017 to January 2018 for a documentary about the war in Yemen that aired on PBS affiliates, according to previously unreported filings with the Department of Justice. The documentary was part of Qatar's sprawling propaganda operation against two adversaries, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Washington Free Beacon
Biden administration restricts Russia's Kaspersky; Kremlin cries 'unfair' . . . The Biden administration cracked down this week on Russia-based Kaspersky, issuing new restrictions on its U.S. operations that the Kremlin deemed unfair and the cybersecurity company labeled unnecessary. The Department of Commerce blacklisted Kaspersky on Thursday and said the government will effectively block the cyber firm from selling software and providing updates for existing services to U.S. users because of national security concerns. More than 1,300 people died during Hajj . . . More than 1,300 people died during this year's Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia as the faithful faced extreme high temperatures at Islamic holy sites in the desert kingdom, Saudi authorities announced Sunday. Saudi Health Minister Fahd bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel said that 83% of the 1,301 fatalities were unauthorized pilgrims who walked long distances in soaring temperatures to perform the Hajj rituals in and around the holy city of Mecca. Israel's 'intense' operations in Gaza 'about to end,' attention to move to Hezbollah . . . "The intense phase of the fighting against Hamas is about to end," Netanyahu told local Channel 14. "It doesn't mean that the war is about to end, but the war in its intense phase is about to end in Rafah. After the end of the intense phase, we will be able to redeploy some forces to the north, and we will do that. Primarily for defensive purposes but also to bring the (displaced) residents back home." Almost half of U.S. electric car owners want to switch back to gas-powered cars . . . Nearly half of American owners of electric cars want to switch back to traditional cars powered by internal combustion engines, according to a consumer survey released by McKinsey and Co. earlier this month. The consulting firm surveyed consumers in multiple countries: the U.S., China, Germany, Norway, Australia, France, Italy, Japan and Brazil. Between all of those countries, 29% of electric car owners want to return to driving internal combustion cars, with 46% of surveyed American electric car owners wanting to do so. San Francisco McDonald's shutters after 30 years in latest casualty of $20 minimum wage . . . A longtime San Francisco McDonald's has become the latest casualty of California's new $20 minimum wage, according to reports. "This is a gut-wrenching day for my family," franchise owner Scott Rodrick said, according to ABC 7. Rodrick blamed the closure on a number of factors — but said the newly rolled-out law hiking the statewide minimum wage from $16 to $20 an hour pushed the business over the edge. New York Post

AI blood test could detect Parkinson's disease up to 7 years before symptoms . . . A new blood test could reveal Parkinson's diagnoses up to seven years before symptoms emerge. Researchers in London and Germany used artificial intelligence to develop the test. The study included 72 patients with rapid eye movement behavior disorder, a condition that has been linked to a higher risk of Alzheimer's. When the researchers used machine learning to analyze blood samples from the patients, they discovered that 79% of them had the same biomarkers as people with Parkinson's. Over a 10-year follow-up period, the researchers confirmed that 16 of the patients went on to develop Parkinson's. Fox News

Cops deliver groceries after busting DoorDash driver on his way to customer's house . . . Justice wasn't served; it was hand-delivered. Two Arizona residents were delightfully shocked when a trio of police officers arrived at their door with their groceries in hand after cops arrested their delivery driver, who was en route to drop off their supermarket order. Waden Khan and his roommate were waiting for their DoorDash order to arrive on May 30 when they noticed their driver had not moved from the same spot for over an hour after getting a notification their order had been picked up. However, just when the pair figured they wouldn't receive their food, they heard a knock at the door. "I look out of the window. Two cop cars pull up," Khan said.
