Trump will use his Madison Square Garden rally to deliver closing argument: Harris broke America . . . Donald Trump plans to make his closing argument of the campaign at a splashy hometown rally at Madison Square Garden — a choice that reflects the former president's confidence about the state of the race and a sense of his celebrity status. Trump's decision to hold a rally at the iconic New York City sports and entertainment venue stands in contrast to Kamala Harris' selection of the Ellipse in Washington, where on Tuesday she'll return to where Trump spoke ahead of the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. Both candidates will similarly portray their opponent as a threat to the nation. Politico
Harris Struggles to Distinguish Candidacy From Biden . . . Vice President Kamala Harris has presented herself as the candidate who will help the nation "turn the page" and chart a "new way forward" after a tumultuous period marked by polarization under former President Donald Trump. A new Wall Street Journal poll finds that a majority of voters, 54%, say she would largely continue Biden's approach and policies, while 41% said she would bring her own fresh ideas and new leadership to the White House. Wall Street Journal
Progressives warn Harris must change her closing message as the election looms . . . Progressive Democrats warn Kamala Harris risks losing the support of a small but significant portion of her political base unless she changes her campaign's closing message — and its messengers — immediately. Several progressive leaders believe that the Democratic nominee has been too focused on winning over moderate Republicans in recent days at the expense of her own party's passionate liberals. And they say that Harris' closing message, which is increasingly centered on Republican Donald Trump . . . ignores the economic struggles of the nation's working class. Associated Press
Republicans mobilize thousands for poll watching operation . . . The Republican National Committee has started deploying its poll watchers to stand hawk-eyed around voting and ballot-counting centers and report problems to hotlines. While long a pillar of the voting process for both major political parties, the Right's poll-watching efforts have focused on seeking out instances of possible voter fraud. The RNC recruited more than 230,000 volunteer poll watchers, workers, and lawyers. Washington Examiner
Mel Gibson: Kamala Harris Has 'Appalling Track Record,' 'IQ of a Fence Post' . . . Actor-director Mel Gibson hinted that he will be voting for former President Donald Trump while saying Vice President Kamala Harris has an "appalling track record" with an "IQ of a fence post." The Braveheart director issued his comments in a brief interview with TMZ while walking through the airport. While Gibson did not explicitly say that he will be voting for Trump, he did strongly hint at it. Breitbart
A smart fence post.
Kamala Harris: Abortion is more important than religious freedom . . . The Democratic nominee for president believes in forcing religious healthcare providers to perform abortions, a procedure that goes against many of their deeply held religious beliefs. It's further proof a Harris administration would be authoritarian and infringe on religious rights while masquerading as freedom-loving and tolerant. Washington Examiner

Anderson Cooper and Charlamagne Da God curse at each other over Trump coverage . . . Charlamagne didn't back down on his "Trump is a fascist" line of questioning. "I don't think y'all have enough conversations about it," the radio show host said. "I feel like I heard more on this network about 'is Kamala Harris Black?' than I do about Donald Trump being a fascist." "Honestly, that's bulls—," Cooper shot back. "I'm sorry. I'm a fan of yours, but to say that we're sitting around discussing 'is Kamala Harris Black…" "I've seen that. I've seen roundtable discussions a lot. Now that's bulls—, Anderson," Charlamagne cut the anchor off. New York Post
Biden DOJ perfects "equity" blueprint for destroying police, fire departments . . . A recent string of lawsuits by the Department of Justic against police and fire departments could serve as a blueprint for erasing physical and mental standards in the name of equity. The DOJ settled two lawsuits and filed a third against local departments in October accusing them of discrimination after black applicants disproportionately failed to pass cognitive written tests and female applicants struggled to pass physical tests. The DOJ deemed the tests discriminatory due to the results, despite applicants of all races and both genders being subject to the same standards. Daily Caller

A college student who formerly identified as transgender faced threats, harassment, and cyberbullying for attempting to host an event on his college campus intended to raise awareness about the dangers of gender transition procedures for minors. Simon B. Amaya Price, 20, was tasked with creating an event about social change for a class at Berklee College of Music, a private music college in Boston. He decided to host a presentation on Oct. 20 titled "Born in the Right Body: Desister and Detransitioner Awareness." Daily Signal
Luxury department store removes the word 'Christmas' from popular gift catalog . . . An iconic annual gift catalog known for its extravagance has removed the word "Christmas" from its name after a nearly 100-year run. Neiman Marcus' "Christmas Book," in print since 1926, first started as a 16-page booklet. In the years since, it has become popular among the wealthy and bucket list dreamers alike for its "Fantasy Gift." The shift from the "Christmas Book" to "Holiday Book" for this year's catalog has raised hackles inside the 117-year-old company based in Dallas. Fox Business

Russia supplied satellite-targeting data for Houthi attacks on Western cargo ships . . . Russia provided satellite targeting data to the Houthis in Yemen, aiding the Iran-backed terrorist group's missile and drone attacks on Western ships in the Red Sea this year, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday. The Houthis used the targeting data, which was funneled through members of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stationed in Yemen, to coordinate and expand strikes on ships along the vital global trade route, according to an individual familiar with the matter and two European defense officials. International court prosecutor who charged Netanyahu faces sexual misconduct accusation . . . As the International Criminal Court's top prosecutor sought war crimes charges this year against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over actions in Gaza, he was engulfed in a very different personal crisis playing out behind the scenes. Karim Khan faced accusations that he tried for more than a year to coerce a female aide into a sexual relationship and groped her against her will. He's categorically denied the allegations, saying there was "no truth to suggestions of misconduct." Court officials have said they may have been made as part of an Israeli intelligence smear campaign. Associated Press
Israel trying to finish off Hamas in Gaza . . . A year into the war in Gaza, Israel is back at the site of its first battles and engaged in one of the most ferocious campaigns of the conflict, a do-over that offers a cautionary tale for its other war in Lebanon. Homed in on northern Gaza, Israel has issued evacuation orders for every town north of Gaza City and dispatched two new brigades, in what the military says is its latest attempt to eradicate Hamas from the enclave. It is the third major offensive in the area since the start of the war. Wall Street Journal

U.S. fast-food chains were pulling fresh onions out of their menu items on Thursday after the vegetable was named as the likely source of an E. coli outbreak at McDonald's restaurants that has sickened 49 people and killed one. Restaurant Brands International, parent of McDonald's rival Burger King, and Yum Brands said they were removing fresh onions from menu items. Roughly 5% of Burger King locations have removed onions from the menu, a Burger King spokesperson said in a statement. Reuters

Erik and Lyle Menendez still have a long way to go before they can walk out of prison, even though Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón has recommended their life-without-parole sentences be thrown out and the brothers be resentenced and immediately eligible for parole. The brothers, convicted in the 1989 killings of their parents at the family's Beverly Hills mansion, will need to get a judge to go along with the recommendation Gascón made Thursday and then a parole board must approve their release. The final stop is with Gov. Gavin Newsom, who could reject the board's decision. Associated Press

Bill Clinton calls Arizona GOP Senate candidate Kari Lake 'physically attractive' . . . "You got a person that grew up under sometimes challenging circumstances, who made something of his life running against someone who is physically attractive, but believes that politics is a performance art, and where, like J.D. Vance, she has to be prost[r]ate before the master," Mr. Clinton said. "First of all, you know what, as a middle-aged woman, I'm flattered, I'm flattered," Ms. Lake said. "I don't get those kinds of compliments every day. Two, I thought I was a little too old for him. Doesn't he like interns?" Washington Times
