White House altered record of Biden's 'garbage' remarks despite stenographer concerns . . . Biden, according to a transcript prepared by the official White House stenographers, told the Latino group on a Tuesday evening video call, "The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters — his — his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it's un-American." The transcript released by the White House press office, however, rendered the quote with an apostrophe, reading "supporter's" rather than "supporters," which aides said pointed to Biden criticizing Hinchcliffe, not the millions of Americans who are supporting Trump for president. Mark Cuban's suggestion Trump women are dumb comes on top of Biden 'garbage' comment . . . Harris campaign surrogate Mark Cuban's suggestion that women in Donald Trump's orbit are weak and dumb is blowing up on her campaign even as the furor continues to rage over President Biden's dismissal of Trump supporters as "garbage." "Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women. Ever," Cuban said during an appearance on ABC's "The View" Thursday. "It's just that simple. They're intimidating to him. He doesn't like to be challenged by them and, you know, Nikki Haley will call him on his nonsense with reproductive rights and how he sees and treats and talks about women. I mean, he just can't have her around. It wouldn't work." Fox News
The remarkable thing about this is that Trump is surrounded by strong women, from his daughter to his senior campaign adviser, Susie Wiles.
Harris leans in on abortion messaging in final days of campaign . . . Vice President Kamala Harris, in a closing message on the campaign trail out in Nevada, leaned in on making abortion completely legal in all 50 states. Ms. Harris, who spoke at a Thursday rally in Reno, called on her supporters to vote for a ballot question on a proposed amendment to Nevada's constitution. The provision would create a state constitutional right to an abortion until fetal viability or if needed to save the life or health of the woman, without interference from state or local governments. Harris keeps bringing in new money as Trump struggles to grow his donor base . . . Kamala Harris' fundraising operation has been so dominant that she has brought in more new donors than Donald Trump every single day heading into the final stretch of the election. Donors are a subset of voters, tending to reflect the most engaged supporters on either side. And Harris has a massive donor advantage: Her operation, carried over from President Joe Biden, has more than twice as many donors as Trump's campaign apparatus. Politico
Betting Markets Tend to Get Elections Right—With Some Notable Exceptions . . . Betting markets show former President Donald Trump has a roughly 60% chance of beating Vice President Kamala Harris next week. Should they be trusted? History suggests that betting markets have generally been good forecasters of U.S. elections. More often than not, the presidential candidate with the best odds before Election Day goes on to take the White House. But there have been some glaring exceptions. In 2016, for instance, betting markets such as PredictIt and U.K.-based Betfair gave Hillary Clinton a more than 80% chance of defeating Trump. Wall Street Journal
Haley on standby as clock ticks down . . . With only four days until the election, the clock is ticking for Donald Trump to engage Nikki Haley on the campaign trail — if he even wants to at all. Haley, the last Republican candidate to drop out during the primaries, has said that she remains on "standby" for the Trump campaign. She has put her name on fundraising and has spoken favorably of her former political rival in the media and on the main stage at the Republican National Convention. Politico
Buzz Aldrin backs Trump . . . Buzz Aldrin, the second man to ever walk on the Moon, endorsed former President's Trump reelection bid on Wednesday. Aldrin said in his official endorsement that the U.S. is facing "difficult realities" domestically and globally, and the country needs a "proven, serious, tested leader for President." The Apollo 11 astronaut praised the former president for helping create the U.S. Space Force and his support for advances made in the private space sector. The Hill
Trump sues CBS for $10B over Harris's '60 Minutes' interview . . . The lawsuit, which seeks $10 billion in damages and was filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Texas alleges the network engaged in "partisan and unlawful acts of election and voter interference through malicious, deceptive, and substantial news distortion." "To paper over Kamala's 'word salad' weakness, CBS used its national platform on 60 Minutes to cross the line from the exercise of judgment in reporting to deceitful, deceptive manipulation of news," the lawsuit reads. The Hill

The McDonald's next to the White House also has plywood going up over the building, as well as the building next to it. Video shows workers actively putting up the boards. Breitbart
Republicans outraged over Julia Roberts ad telling women to lie to husbands about their vote . . . "If I found out Emma was going to the voting booth and pulling the lever for Harris, that's the same thing as having an affair," Fox News host Jesse Watters said on air Wednesday in a clip highlighted by Mediaite. Other GOP members including Charlie Kirk said the thought was "nauseating."In criticizing the ad, he discussed a husband working hard to afford his wife's lifestyle, and then said a wife who lied to her husband about whom she backed would amount to undermining her husband. It's OK to make offensive jokes at campaign rallies if you're a Democrat . . . On Saturday, a comedian at a Harris–Walz rally made a joke about Mexican people being thieves, drawing laughter from throngs of Harris-Walz supporters. Another joke followed that, once again, ridiculed the Latino community, this time for not being able to "split a check at a restaurant." Again, the remark drew nothing but laughter from the crowd. There was no outrage. The comedian's name was George Lopez, who is of Mexican descent. Washington Examiner

American cities plagued by crime in years after George Floyd's killing, federal data show . . . A surge in rapes, muggings and shootings has taken hold in American cities since 2019, according to an analysis of federal data, and researchers say the violence is a product of Democrats' anti-police, pro-criminal policies enacted after the death of George Floyd. The number of city dwellers who reported being victims of violent crime shot up over 40% from 2019 to 2023, according to the Justice Department's National Crime Victimization Survey. Washington Times
New York City legalizes jaywalking because enforcing the law is "racist" . . . Despite that roughly 200 people have been killed in New York City in the last five years while jaywalking, the city has now legalized jaywalking — outlawed since 1958 — with supporters claiming the laws against jaywalking were racist. The city council passed a bill last month permitting jaywalking. Prior to the law being abolished, a violation could cost as much as $300, The New York Times noted, adding, "Jaywalking laws, historically used to target Black and Latino residents, were not evenly enforced in New York, and the Council bill was primarily a racial justice measure." North Korean missile too big to use . . . North Korea boasted Friday that the new intercontinental ballistic missile it just test-launched is "the world's strongest," a claim seen as pure propaganda after experts assessed it as being too big to be useful in a war situation. The ICBM launched Thursday flew higher and for a longer duration than any other weapon North Korea has tested. But foreign experts say the test failed to show North Korea has mastered some of the last remaining technological hurdles to possess functioning ICBMs that can strike the mainland U.S. Associated Press

Heartbreaking abuse of bureaucracy-driven government power. Would be typical of the animal rights crowd to kill a pet they think is not living under its preferred conditions.

Monkeys will never type Shakespeare, study finds . . . Two Australian mathematicians have called into question an old adage, that if given an infinite amount of time, a monkey pressing keys on a typewriter would eventually write the complete works of William Shakespeare. Known as the "infinite monkey theorem", the thought-experiment has long been used to explain the principles of probability and randomness. The study found that the time it would take for a typing monkey to replicate Shakespeare's plays, sonnets and poems would be longer than the lifespan of our universe. Which means that while mathematically true, the theorem is "misleading", they say. BBC
The study found, however, that the monkeys would indeed be able to perfectly type out Kamala Harris's known campaign platform in less than a week.
