Trump expected to name Marco Rubio to be Secretary of State . . . President-elect Trump is expected to nominate Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida as Secretary of State, a source familiar tells Fox News. The source noted that while Trump could still change his mind at the last minute, as of now he's planning on offering the job to Rubio, the three-term senator whom the former president considered as his running mate this summer before naming Sen. JD Vance as the GOP vice presidential nominee. Rubio, the son of Cuban exiles, has taken hardline foreign policy positions on China, Iran and Cuba. Fox News

Michael Waltz, a retired Army National Guard officer and war veteran, to be his national security adviser, a person familiar with the matter said Monday. The nod came despite simmering concerns on Capitol Hill about Trump tapping members of the House, where the final tally is still uncertain and there are worries about pulling any GOP members from the chamber because that would force a new election to fill the empty seat. Trump expected to choose South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem for Homeland Security secretary . . . President-elect Donald Trump is expected to select South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem to fill the role of Homeland Security secretary, a source confirms to Fox News Digital. Noem, who was thought to be a potential running mate on the Trump ticket earlier in the year, has served as governor of the Mount Rushmore State since 2019. Fox News
Melania Trump won't go to the White House to meet with the Bidens . . . Melania Trump declined an offer to head to the White House Wednesday and meet with Jill Biden, citing the Biden administration's raid on Mar-a-Lago as part of the federal government's investigation into classified documents. "She ain't going," a source familiar with Melania's decision told The Post. "Jill Biden's husband authorized the FBI snooping through her underwear drawer. The Bidens are disgusting," the source said. "Jill Biden isn't someone Melania needs to meet," the source added. New York Post
Former Rep. Lee Zeldin will take over at EPA . . . President-elect Donald Trump has selected former New York GOP Rep. Lee Zeldin to serve as administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, The Post can exclusively report. Zeldin, 44, served four terms as a Republican congressman repping eastern Long Island before losing the 2022 New York governor's race to Democrat Kathy Hochul by a surprisingly close margin — and will become a key figure in adopting Trump's deregulatory and pro-energy production policies. Harris campaign spent $20 million on celebrity events . . . Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign spent at least $20 million on celebrity appearances during her failed presidential bid, federal election records revealed. The payments covered the costs of events with Hollywood A-listers, though it's unclear whether the celebrities pocketed any of the money. Federal Election Commission records show that Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Productions was paid $1 million on Oct. 15, weeks after Ms. Winfrey hosted a star-studded town hall featuring Julia Roberts and George Clooney. Judge to rule whether to throw out Trump's criminal hush money conviction . . . A New York judge will decide Tuesday whether to throw out Donald Trump's conviction in his criminal hush money case based on the Supreme Court's decision on presidential immunity earlier this year. The President-elect faces up to four years in prison after he was found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in order to cover off payments to porn star Stormy Daniels before Trump was elected president in 2016. Dem Rep Ruben Gallego beats Kari Lake in battle for Arizona Senate seat . . . Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., has won the race for Arizona's open Senate seat, beating out Republican Kari Lake, a close ally of President-elect Donald Trump, according to The Associated Press Monday night. This was the final Senate race to be called, leaving the Republicans with a 53-47 majority. It's still not clear which party will secure a House majority with a handful of races yet to be called there. Fox News

Trump gears up for assault on wokeness with education overhaul . . . President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to remake education in the U.S., pledging to exert more control over funding and classroom lessons, to curb what he views as left-leaning tendencies at universities and even to dismantle the Department of Education. If his White House delivers on those promises, more families could get money to send kids to private school. Schools would face pressure to limit accommodations for transgender students and to end some initiatives aimed at addressing racial disparities. Wall Street Journal
First Transgender-Identifying Man Elected to Congress . . . Sarah McBride will become the first openly transgender-identifying person to serve in Congress after winning Delaware's at-large U.S. House seat Tuesday night. McBride, a Delaware state senator, is a biological man who identifies as a woman. McBride courted moderates by focusing on kitchen table issues instead of identity politics. The 34-year-old politician told CBS News that the congressional campaign was not about making history but restoring the American dream for the average voter. Just the News

Trump's new border czar puts sanctuary cities on notice: 'Get the hell out of the way' . . . In an interview with Fox News on Monday, Tom Homan laid out an expansive effort to carry out Mr. Trump's mass deportation promises. He said the administration will start with illegal immigrants who have criminal records or threaten national security. The estimated 1.1 million illegal immigrants who have refused to comply with deportation orders also will be priority targets. Mr. Homan said sanctuary cities won't be able to protect illegal immigrants from deportation. "If sanctuary cities don't want to help us, then get the hell out of the way. We're coming," he said. Terrorists to attend UN Climate Summit . . . The Taliban are attending the 2024 U.N. Climate Change Conference, also known as COP29, in Azerbaijan. Representatives from the Taliban will join attendees from all over the world in Baku, Azerbaijan, for the proceedings, marking the first time that the group is sending delegates to the U.N.'s climate confab since it took power over Afghanistan after the U.S. withdrew from the country in 2021, the AP reported. The Taliban's delegation will look to enhance its cooperation on climate issues with other countries and highlight the country's needs concerning securing financing for climate and green energy initiatives. Dozens killed after car ploughs into crowd in China . . . At least 35 people were killed and 43 more injured after a car ploughed into a crowd of people exercising outside a stadium in Zhuhai, China, on Monday, according to authorities. A 62-year-old male driver, surnamed Fan, is alleged to have driven an SUV into Zhuhai Sports Centre in what local police described as a "serious and vicious attack". Chinese media reported that many elderly people, as well as teenagers and children, were among the injured. Fan was arrested while trying to flee, police said, and is currently in a coma as a result of self-inflicted wounds. BBC

It appears that even in Democratic strongholds, voters have had enough with soft-on-crime policies that have been implemented by left-wing prosecutors in recent years. In California and Illinois, three district attorneys who enacted lenient criminal policies were ousted during Tuesday's election. In addition, a ballot measure to toughen criminal penalties in California was passed overwhelmingly. Chris Wallace to leave CNN . . . Chris Wallace is quitting CNN after three years as one of its biggest stars. The 77-year-old broadcaster said he will instead find a new home on an independent platform such as streaming or podcasting, which he described as "where the action seems to be." The stunning decision by Wallace to walk away from CNN at the end of his three-year, seven-figure contract, rather than to renegotiate it, is a watershed moment for cable TV. Mattel says it 'deeply' regrets misprint on 'Wicked' dolls packaging that links to porn site . . . Toy giant Mattel says it "deeply" regrets an error on the packaging of its "Wicked" movie-themed dolls, which mistakenly links toy buyers to a pornographic website. The error gained attention on social media over the weekend, where numerous users shared photos of the URL printed on the back of the boxes for the special edition dolls, which feature characters from the movie adaptation of "Wicked" set to hit theaters later this month. Instead of linking to Universal Pictures' official WickedMovie.com page, the website listed leads to an adult film site that requires consumers to be over 18 to enter. Associated Press
