Dear Diogenes:

Our new research comparing concealed permit holders to police in stopping active shooting attacks is getting attention. My piece at The Federalist compared such things as the differing rates that civilians and police stop attacks, the relative rates that they accidentally shoot bystanders, the rate that they die or are wounded stopping the attacks, and whether the civilians get in the way of the police. I think that you will find the results very important and see how the media completely distorts defensive gun use. I appeared on Real America's Voice's Stinchfield Tonight and Washington, DC's radio station WMAL twice: once talking to Vince Coglianese and then to Mike PelkaInstapunditBreitbart, and other media covered it, and Colion Noir did a video on the research. I will soon be posting a lot more radio appearances.

Another piece in the Washington Times makes the case for national reciprocity.

My previous research on the political distortions and errors in the FBI data was discussed on Lars Larson's national radio showCoast-to-Coast AM (heard by 7.75 million people)Southern Oregon's KMEDSalt Lake City's KNRS, and Cincinnati's giant 50,000-watt WLW.

We have continued collecting examples of television show bias on guns. CBS's FBI has a ridiculous show about the traceability of ghost guns where an FBI agent explains that ghost guns make it impossible to trace who obtained the gundespite them having a picture of it. Suppose the shooter had a 9mm handgun or an AR-15, would the agent say can we trace the gun because of its design? Presumably not. CBS's Tracker has yet another unsuccessful defensive gun use. Remember our new research on concealed handgun permit holders and stopping crime when you watch this.

By the way, while it isn't part of our work, if you haven't seen Judge Lawrence VanDyke of the 9th Circuit video that he put out as part of his dissent in an en banc decision banning large-capacity magazines, it is worth watching here.

I have moved to Salt Lake City. Our new address is Crime Prevention Research Center, 358 S 700 E, Ste B, B409, Salt Lake City, UT 84102.

We have updated our list of defensive gun uses by people legally carrying concealed handguns for December 2024.

If you haven't already seen it, please watch our new video with John Stossel, which covers our new research showing errors in the FBI's active shooting reports.

We need help getting our research out. It doesn't do us any good to do all this work if people don't see it. If you have friends you think might find our emails interesting, please encourage them to sign up by sending them the link here. Thank you very much.

We need your support to continue doing the work that we do. Our end of the year donations are   I don't think that there is any organization with as small of a budget that regularly produces as much as we do. Thank you very much.
