Our new research on active shooting cases systematically compared how uniformed police and civilians with concealed handgun permits perform in stopping these attacks has gotten some coverage. Colion Noir has a nice video that has already received 124,000 views. Bearing Arms called it “An Eye-Opening Study on Civilian Response to Active Shooters.” I also appeared on Wisconsin’s Vicki McKenna Show and Cleveland’s WHK with Bob Franz. I also discussed it on One America News.

You might have seen the headlines across the country repeating a University of Colorado public health study claiming that “1 out of every 15 American adults have been at a mass shooting.” But it is more bogus and dishonest public health research. That figure suggests that 18 million Americans have witnessed a mass shooting firsthand, and 5.6 million were “injured.” It is an outrageous claim that falls apart under basic scrutiny. Other radio interviews discussed the errors in FBI data, the Supreme Court decision in the VanDerStok case, national concealed carry reciprocity, my book on Gun Control Myths, the Ninth Circuit’s recent gun control decisions, the effectiveness of non-lethal defense methods, the shifting of ATF agents to the FBI, and a wide range of crime and gun control issues.

It is hardly a surprise, but gun control advocates immediately called for all sorts of new gun control after the Florida State University shooting, but they completely ignore that the attack occurred in yet another gun-free zone.

We have updated our list of defensive gun uses by people legally carrying concealed handguns for January 2025.
